New Staff of JDPH – Jos Office

To be able to implement its new project titled Socio – Economic Reintegration of North Eastern Nigeria (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe), the JDPH – Jos has a new crop of staff. These members of staff will be carrying out the implementation of different components of the project.

Community Entry

COMMUNITY ENTRY

Sequel to their induction and training workshops, the staffs of JDPH – Jos have since commenced work. This began with the community scouting and entry exercises that took place in Michika and Hong LGA’s of Adamawa state, with Yaskule community in Michika LGA as the first community to be visited by the team. This same exercise was replicated in various selected communities in Hawul LGA of Borno state, as well as Nangere and Fune LGA of Yobe state respectively.

Data Capturing Exercise

After conducting a successful community entry, members of the team proceed with the data capturing of breadwinners of selected households that meet the criteria for selection of beneficiaries for the project. More so, for the sake of efficiency and time management, certain members of the community were trained to assist in the data capturing using a mobile data capturing app..

WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE

JDPH/CA also reached over 150,000 With potable water through rehabilitation of 15 hand pump boreholes in Wandali, Kwaya Kusar, Yimir Dalang, Kidang, Shaffa and Kwajaffa; Drilled 2 boreholes in badly damaged communities of Kwajaffa and Nwutambaya where Boko Haram insurgents destroyed all water points, schools, Houses and any other thing worth destroying including lives.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Catholic Province Of Jos, Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development (JDPH) in Partnership with Christian Aid, responded to Humanitarian needs in 6 communities ( Wandali, Kwaya Kusar, Yimir Dalang of Kwaya Kusar Local Government Area ) and ( Kidang, Shaffa and Kwajaffa and Nwutambaya of Hawul LGA) all of Borno state. 1, 541 households were reached with food distribution and WASH NFIs.

CREATING SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE.

JDPH/CA trained 300 Men, women and Youth in Sustainable Agriculture with focus on organic farming, production of organic fertilizer using forages, animal waste. The farmers were supported with land, cash for work, seedlings , water pumping machines and hoes for dry and wet season farming in Wandali, Yimir Dalang, Kwaya Kusar, Shaffa , Kidang and Kwajaffa.

We envisaged a society where communities are empowered and have an improved living standard, embraced a culture of peaceful co-existence and social justice for all.
