Vintage Hand Carved Onyx Bookends featuring a wavy beige design with Aztec carved faces in shades of green.
These handsome bookends are from a 1973 trip to Mexico. Hand-carved and very heavy at 5.8 lbs. Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 2 1/2". The base tapers from 2 1/2" to 3/4".
The faces are hand-carved with wonderful detail in different shades of green.
Please note: There are minor defects on each piece. The darker Aztec face piece is chipped at the top right and lower left corners. The lighter shade face piece is chipped slightly on the left side and the upper right corner. The onyx is considered "wavy" in shades of beige. On the base of the lighter shaded piece is the number 43, possibly a signature. See photos for details.
